In order to qualify for an L-1 visa, individuals must have been employed by their current employer for at least one year within the past three years, and they must be coming to the United States to work in a managerial or executive capacity, or to work in a position that requires specialized knowledge. Additionally, the employer must have a qualifying relationship with a company in the United States, such as a subsidiary, branch, or affiliate, and the individual must be transferring to that company in the United States to work in a similar capacity.
